E bike on Dartmoor

Although this blog is mainly about our travels abroad, I have been having so much fun on my ebike, that I had to do a blog post.

We start off with a fairly unprepossessing day on Dartmoor.  It's mid December, fairly mild

Here I am in the drizzle on Trendlebeare Down.  It's a lovely quiet road that goes from Manaton to Haytor Vale.

When I got onto the main road passing Haytor and Saddle Tor the wind was really up and my front wheel kept forcing me to the left.  Thankfully I was cycling on the left!  I double hatted, which makes me look a bit like a garden Gnome and just went for it.

Arrived in Ashburton just in time for my art class.  On the way I saw a herd of Dartmoor ponies flying across Rippon Tor with manes and tails streaming behind them.  The wind must have spooked them.  What a sight.  Sorry I could not capture it on camera, but I decided to enjoy the moment.

It's 12.5 miles or thereabout depending on which way I go and takes roughly 1.5 hours without rushing.
