First cycle ride along Route des Grand Crus, Middle bit near Nuit St George, Cote d'or.

Vineyards near Nuits St Georges

Every since I first heard about the Cote d'or, the famous strip of land between Dijon and Beaune, I have wanted to discover the little lanes that are said to run through the vineyards.
Near Vougeot

We started at the grand but empty (save for a few old wine presses) Chateau Vougeot.  Warm bright shop, cold empty Chateau, basically a series of barns. No upstairs rooms to view, but worth the 7 euro entrance fee because one of these little paths started at the doorstep and we spent a pleasant - and surprisingly sunny - afternoon cycling from here to Nuits St Georges.  Stopped of in a cute little cafe for grand cafe au laite and tea avec lait froid!
Julian's back locking our bikes outside the cafe.
